Hot or Cold?

Sweetheart Math

The students had an AMAZING time using conversational hearts for a math unit. We began by estimating how many hearts were in our box. We wrote the estimation down on the box and then opened them to count. We then compared the estimate to the actual number. After that, the students sorted their hearts by color and created number bonds based upon the color. At the end of the activity, students graphed their hearts by color and answered questions about their graph. This was a great lesson to review math concepts in a fun Valentines way!

Fruit Pizza!

Ms. Hodges, my student teacher, developed a sequential vocabulary lesson using recipes. After a whole class recipe lesson the previous day, the students used tiered recipes to create fruit pizza. The students loved this activity and enjoyed eating their creation!

FLOAM!!!

Students discovered a new way to learn with FLOAM! They had an amazing time experimenting with the FLOAM and molding it into letters, sight words, vocabulary words, their names and creative sculptures.
