Celebrating Dr. King's Message...

Today, we discussed how Dr. Martin Luther King shaped our country by having a dream that we would all be created equal. Using the wonderful children's book, The Crayon Box That Talked, the students were able to see how when many colors come together the world is a beautiful place. Each child created their own personal crayon. The outside shows their unique "skin tone" and the inside shows how they feel on the inside. We put all of the crayons together and created our class family crayon box.

The caption above the box reads "We should LOVE everyone! It doesn't matter what your skin color is, we are ALL a family!" (The students came up with this quote 100% on their own)

We want to THANK our entire Comal ISD School Board for everything that they do! Without their help, our students would not succeed. A special THANKS goes to Mr. Mueller from Mrs. Wolff's Class!
